I used my old build your own lightsaber kit, guted the insides and bought a metal pipe, a cupling and 3/4 pvc pipe. I think the 3/4 is to think for a blade and kinda heavy, but 1/2 seems to small and frigale. what should i use? And i cant afford carbon fiber of aluminum tubes.

try wrapping a dowel (wood) rod in ducttape until it fits nice and snug in the handle
